Notice of Community Council Elections 2026

Notice to all residents of Glenbrae:

Nominations are now open for the Glenbrae Community Council election, to be held on Thursday 17 September 2026. Six positions are available: Convenor, Vice-Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer, Planning Officer, and Community Liaison.

Nomination Details

Nomination papers are available from the Village Hall during office hours, or by request from the returning officer, Finlay Robertson. Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Village Hall by 4:00 pm on Friday 22 August 2026. Each nomination must be proposed and seconded by two registered electors of Glenbrae.

To be eligible, candidates must be sixteen years of age or over and appear on the electoral roll for Glenbrae. The Community Council meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm in the Village Hall.

Election Procedure

If the number of valid nominations exceeds the number of positions, a ballot will be held. Polling will take place at the Village Hall between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm on Thursday 17 September. Postal voting is available on request — applications must be received by Friday 5 September.
